Sedation Dentistry
- Laughing Gas: Laughing gas doesn't induce sleep like general anaesthesia does. Instead, breathing in this combination will produce a slight tingling sensation and a general feeling of numbness throughout your body. You may also experience some lightheadedness, but you will remain able to communicate with your dentist throughout the entire process.
- Oral Sedation: One of the methods that we use to help relax patients during dental procedures is called oral sedation (also known as pill sedation). Although the pill can cause drowsiness, it is not potent enough to induce full-on sleep. While some individuals may become groggy enough to fall asleep, they can easily be roused by gentle shaking.
